headshot sessions
Updating your headshot is quick and painless! Choose clothes with a classic look. You shouldn’t be able to tell what decade it is in the photo. Stay away from large patterns. Avoid tops with tight grids or checks because they can have a moiré pattern effect in photos. Larger checks and thin stripes are okay.
Men can go with a suit and coordinating shirt and tie. Or for a more casual look, wear a button down shirt with a jacket or sweater. If you're wearing just a shirt, avoid white as it looks very plain. Make sure shirts and jackets are fitted—not too bulky. Clothes that are too big don't photograph well.
Women, if you're comfortable showing your arms, sleeveless or short sleeve blouses or dresses work well for a more casual look. Bring a jacket or sweater to layer over it as an option. Try not to wear stark white unless it’s under something such as a jacket or cardigan. V-necks and scoop necks are a good choice. Just don’t choose something with too low of a neckline to avoid showing cleavage. Avoid turtlenecks as they can make it look like you have no neck. For jewelry, go with small, classic pieces that aren't too reflective or flashy.
